Frisco in Fort Worth
This series of articles describe Saint Louis and San Francisco Railroad, nicknamed the Frisco, with reporting marks of SLSF in the Fort Worth area. The Frisco was one of seven railroads that serviced Fort Worth. Those railroads were T&P, GC&SF, MKT (Katy), CRI&P (Rock Island), FW&D, and SSW (Cotton Belt) and are included in this series articles where they present context within the Fort Worth Terminal area.
The purpose of this series of articles is to describe Frisco activities in Fort Worth in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. The series includes articles about Frisco freight operations including switching boundaries, customers, interchanges, freight forwarding, industrial districts, yards, team tracks, warehouses, grain elevators, freight house, etc.
